CHAMOMILE EXTRACT

Matricaria Chamomilla Flower Extract

Chamomile Extract, Matricaria Chamomilla Flower Extract

Chamomile has been used to comfort skin for centuries, but this familiar flower contains sophisticated bioactive compounds, including the flavonoid apigenin, associated with its soothing, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity.

For body skin that feels over-stressed, dry, itchy or irritated, Chamomile helps bring it back toward calm. This becomes especially valuable after shaving, when friction and repeated razor contact can leave skin feeling tender, tight or uncomfortable. Its soothing properties help calm that stressed feeling while supporting the skin's natural recovery.

Chamomile is equally valuable when seasonal changes begin showing up on the skin. Cold winter air, indoor heat, hot summer weather, sun exposure and shifts in humidity can all challenge the skin barrier. Chamomile provides calming support when those changes leave body skin feeling dry, reactive, uncomfortable or depleted.

Then there is apigenin. Research has explored this naturally occurring Chamomile flavonoid in relation to hydration, barrier function, oxidative stress and MMP-1, an enzyme involved in collagen breakdown. Research on apigenin-containing topical formulations has also reported improvements in elasticity, dermal density, moisture and fine wrinkles, adding a visible-aging dimension to Chamomile's better-known soothing benefits.

In The Signature Body Butter™, Chamomile Extract is there for the skin we actually live in: skin that gets shaved, exposed to heat and cold, dried out by seasonal changes and occasionally pushed too far. It helps soothe that everyday stress while supporting softer, calmer, more comfortable and resilient-looking body skin.
