Eventually, curiosity became creation.
In 2007, I founded J21 Skin Care™, years before becoming a licensed esthetician. I wasn't interested in private labeling or placing my name on someone else's formulas. I wanted to create something original. Working alongside an accomplished cosmetic chemist whose mentor had been awarded a Nobel Prize, I developed every formula from the ground up. Long before J21 officially became a company, I was formulating custom skincare for my mother, friends, and family simply because I loved helping people improve their skin. Seeing J21 Skin Care™ featured twice in Glamour UK remains one of the proudest moments of my career. As someone who grew up reading Glamour, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and Allure, having an American skincare brand I created recognized internationally was both humbling and deeply meaningful.

The Signature Body Butter™ was there at the beginning of J21 in 2007. Before I ever became an esthetician, I knew I wanted to create body care that felt decadent enough to become a ritual and effective enough that you would actually finish the jar.
Nearly two decades—and thousands of faces—later, I still believe in what made the original so loved. I've brought everything I've learned about barrier health, skin aging, restorative lipids and antioxidant protection back to the product that started it all.
Because the skin below your neck ages too, and it deserves the same ingredient intelligence and attention we give the face.

From the treatment room
Thousands of faces later
After years of treating thousands of faces, I've become much less interested in how many products someone is using and much more interested in whether the products they're using are actually doing something meaningful for their skin. More isn't necessarily better, and five overlapping serums shouldn't be required to address several skin concerns.
I wanted a facial oil I could confidently recommend again and again—not because everyone has the same skin, but because certain things remain fundamental to beautiful skin: moisture, a healthy barrier, quality lipids, antioxidant protection and consistent nourishment.
