ALLANTOIN

Allantoin

Allantoin is one of skincare's quiet overachievers. Best known for its ability to calm and comfort irritated skin, it also has an important relationship with rough texture, skin renewal and repair—making it particularly valuable in body care.

Allantoin has gentle keratolytic activity, helping soften and loosen hardened, dry surface cells. On areas prone to persistent roughness—especially elbows, knees, heels and other dry patches this helps skin feel noticeably smoother and softer rather than simply moisturized on the surface. Its repair story goes further. Research has explored Allantoin's effects on fibroblast activity, epithelialization and extracellular-matrix synthesis, processes involved in the way skin rebuilds and restores itself. It has also demonstrated anti-inflammatory activity, helping create a calmer environment for skin that is dry, stressed or irritated.

That combination gives Allantoin a particularly useful role: soothe what feels irritated, soften what has become rough, and support the skin's natural renewal and repair processes. With consistent care, coarse texture feels more refined, dry patches become softer, and stressed body skin feels calmer, smoother and more comfortable.

In The Signature Body Butter™, Allantoin works beneath all that richness with a very specific purpose. Ceramides help reinforce the moisture barrier. Shea and botanical oils replenish lipids. Allantoin focuses on comfort, stubborn roughness and healthy skin renewal, helping turn deeply moisturized skin into beautifully smooth skin.

Sometimes the least glamorous-sounding ingredient in the jar is doing some of the most sophisticated work.
